VERDICT BY CONSENT
£1000 AND COSTS AGAINST
NORTON

The libel action. Archbishop Clarke r. John Norton, proprietor of Truth, for £5000, has been settled. The Judge, on taking his seat, announced that the jury were discharged till to--anorrow.
Subsequently counsel for the defendant stated that after hearing the •evidence of the plaintiff defendant was >»atisfied that the article complained of •was unjustified, and desired to apologise and withdraw it. By consent there ■would be a verdict for £1000, with yosts, including the costs of the com■Daission in England, for the plaintiff.
Judgment was entered accordingly
