DESTRUCTIVE TORNADOES.
NEW YORK, June 17
Twenty-eight persons were killed arid many injured by tornadoes in Central Missouri and Ohio, and hundreds of buildings were unroofed. A Catholic church steeple collapsed at Ganesville and fell through the roof, killing the Rev. Father Poach, who was engaged | in administering the last sacraments to a man previously stricken by a portion of a falling wall. Oklahama suffered severely, and many deaths are recorded A freight train was blown off the tracks, j The wind carried a baby half-a-mile ■jn mid-air and landed it almost unhurt. I
