FAMOUS FRESCOES STOLEN.
ROME, June 17. Pinturicchio's famous frescoes in the palace at Siena, have been stolen.
(Pinimricchio ("the little painter") was an eminenlt Italian painter of the TJmbrian school. He \vas bom at Perugia in 1454 and died at Siena in 1513. His chief work was a series of ■mural paintings, illustrating the life of Pope Pius 11. in tbe cathedral library at Siena. There are also fine frescoes hv him in the Buffalini Chapel of the Church of St. Maria in Araceli, Rome. He never painted in oil.)
