MEXICAN REVOLT.
OROZCO DEFEATED. THE REBELS AMBUSHED. 81 CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION--CO PYEIGHT. MEXICO CITY, May 14. A preliminary engagement resulted in General Orozco's defeat. Orozco attributes his defeat to the superior artillery the Federals used. The losses are believed to be heavy. The rebels, under General Salazer, Orozco's lieutenant, reported that they were ambushed in a canyon and almost annihilated. One report states that a thousand were killed.
