ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.
j A meeting of the Hawera division of St. John Ambulance 'Association was j held at the Technical School on Tuesday evening. There was not a large attendance. The president (Mr R. H. Nolan) occupied the chair. It was decided that the course of instruction for the ensuing term be in first aid, and that the ladies should meet on Tuesday evenings at 7.45 o'clock, and the men on Thursday evenings at 8 o'clock, both classes to be held at the Technical School. The fee was fixed at 10s. The President intimated that Dr. Thomson would be unable to take the classes this winter, s and that Dr Gampbell would be the lecturer. The President then presented the certificates won last year as . follows:— First aid, first year: Mr J. Blair, Mr J. Stevenson; second year, Miss Strack; home nursing, Miss Burke, Miss Reid, Miss Mowbray, Miss Hill, Miss M. Exley, Miss L. Exley, and Miss Bates. Mr Nolan said he hoped this year that there would be a larger class and that at the next distribution of the certificates he would have the pleasure of giving one to each member. This was all the business and. the nreeting rose.
