A great many people were present on Thursday evening at the Catholic Social. The music was in the hands of Mrs Slattery, and was, -as usual, very good, and with an excellent floor every-
one had a pleasant time. The hall was / decorated with nikau ferns and other foliage, and the stage arranged for the enjoyment of non-dancers. Those who kindly contributed to the musical part of the social were Mrs C. Burke,. Miss Galloway, Miss'O'Neill, Messrs C. Burke, Dir-k, and Kerry. Messrs ODea and Joyce acted as M.C.'s. The sumptuous sxipper was much enjoyed, and altogether a very happy time resulted. The annual meeting of the Hall Society, which was called for Saturday night, was adjourned for a fortnight. The Railway Commission sits here to take evidence on Thursday next, at 2 v.m. Things are progressing merrily for the big bazaar which comes off towards the end of the month. The Art Union tickets are selling well, and everything points to a sucessful bazaar.
