FALSE DECLARATION.

BY TELEGEAPH-PBESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, May 13. At the Police Court Henry B. Gornilev was charged with making a false declaration to the Customs on some greenstone froiri Sydney. An invoice -produced showed the value to be £2/, but it was ascertained that the goods were saleable for more money m Auckland. Gormley thereupon produced another invoice showing the value to be £61 He stated the goods were sent to be sold 6n commission. 'Ihe larger invoice showed only the selling value. The Magistrate imposed a fine ot £«>o,^and fixed the security for appeal at £00.
