The annual meeting of the Church of England Men's Society was held on Friday night in St. Mary's schoolroom. The Ten. Archdeacon C'assell was in the chair, and there was a fair attendance ■<»f. ni?mbers. The chairman repoi'ted on the woi'lr doae during the year, and the state of the finances. He made special mention of what had been done at the Territorial camp in Hawera. The conveniences of reading and social room had been much appreciated by the men, and this a»Dreciation was expressed in a letter which had been received from Captain Lampan.

Some informal discussion took place on the question of the future of the society and the work to be taken up, and n motion was carried to the effect that the committee, consisting of Messrs Bates, Baker and Townsend, the chairman and secretary (Mr J. C. Smith) should go into the matter and make suggestions. They are also to see what arrangements may be made for making the schoolroom a meeting-place for young men who care to come on certain days of the week.

It was stated that some time this year a visit will be paid to New Zealand by the Rev. J. E. Watts Ditchfield, of London, who will address meetings in various centres on behalf of the C.E.M.S. Tlrfort-'^^+ely, Ms time is limited, and lie will be able to sneak only in a few places, but his visit is being looked forward to with keen' interest by' branches throughout the dominion.
