TRADESMEN'S ASSOCIATION.
OPUNAKE RAILWAY.
A meeting of the Hawera Tradesmen s Association was held at Mr R. S. Sage's office on Friday afternoon to discuss the matter of the Opunake railway. Mr Smith occupied the chair. It was mentioned that the Chamber of • Commerce had arranged a meeting for Monday evening at which Mr G. V Pearce, M.P., and the chairmen of the Kapuni, Oeo and Auroa Railway Leagues would be present. After a general discussion amongst those present Mr E. Dixon was appointed to represent the Association before the Railway Commission.
