Miss Williamson, chemist, late of Hawera, and now in charge of the dispensary of the Auckland Hospital, has been, selected from a number of applicants for a similar position in the Christchturch Hospital.

Mf C. A. Wilkinson, of Eltham, has decided to contest the Egmont seat at the next general election in the interests $f the Opposition, against the Prime Minister.

Or. Hammond, who was recently elected to a vacancy on the Hawera Borough Council, has resigned owing to ill-health. He has had to consult a specialist in reference to an eye trouble,.
