WELLINGTON V.M.C.A.

WELLINGTON, Aug. 2_ Mr Holmes, secretary of the XJj C.A., to-day, it is stated, said there was still a debt of £5000 on the building m Willis street. He attributed tne indebtedness mainly to the fact that many people who had promised to heh> the institution financially when the building campaign was inaugurated, rully meant it at the time, but financial stringency caught them and they were unable to do so. He hoped to celebrate the tenth anniversary with the £5000 debt extinguished.
