NORMANBY.

[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.}

The football dance on Wednesday last was a greaT success, and reflects great credit on the committee who worked it up. Miss Cleaver, of Toroti, supplied excellent music, and Messrs J. Symons and Ogle left nothing to be desired as Ms.C. I understand that it is the intention of the committee to hold a rag social shortly to wind up the season. Normanby played the last of their cup fixtures on Saturday afternoon, when they met Okaiawa who played three seniors. Notwithstanding this, a very interesting game reulte<i, Okaiawa eventually winning by 17 to 8. Th« Normanby team showed to much greater advantage than they have done previously this season. Worsley, Broderick, Cleaver, and Beaven, the latter a boy scout, played really good games, whilst 'for Okaiawa, the three seniors, all natives, played the best, and to their efforts alone the win must be credited. Mr. Canton carried the whistle and gave satisfaction. It was pleasing to note that there was much less noise on the line on Saturday; the few-lines which appeared in last Monday's Star having had a good effect.

West's Pictures visited the Town Hall on Saturday and had a good audience. The films shown were excellent and were thoroughly appreciated and this enterprising company have decided to make a regular visit to Normanby where they will always be sure of a warm welcome, more especially "if the excellence of the programme is continued.
