FIRES.
A LAUNDRY DESTROYED.

NELSON, April 7. A steam laundry at Waimea, an old building which was still in use pending the erection of a new structure, was destroyed by fire this morning. The cause is unknown, but many people are minus a large proportion of their clothing in consequence of the fire. Insurances were £400 on the building and, £300 on the machinery and plant in the New Zealand office.
