THE GOVERNOR
VISIT TO ELTHAM.

His Excellency Lord Plunket, accompanied by Captain Shannon, A.D.C., and the Hon. Mr Buddo, arrived at Eltham railway station by special train at 11.20 a.m. yesterday. He was met on the platform and formally welcomed hv the Mayor (Mr E. Parrott), Mr B. Dive, M.P., and Hon. Carncross, M.L.C., and members of the Borough. Council. The party was then driven out to inspect the Salvation Army's Boys Home. Staff-Captain Glitheroe and Sergeant Thomas had the boys lined up in front of the building to salute his Excellency on arrival. His Excellency and party expressed their pleasure in the objects of the , institution and the manner in which its objects were being carried out. . Before leaving the Home his JLxcellency addressed the boys on their duties as units of the- Empire. The officers of the Home had an excellent luncheon provided for the party, but his Excellency's previous arrangements would not permit the necessary time to partake of any refreshments. The Governor's party left Eltham for Stratford at 12.30 p.m.
At New Plymouth last night there was a great gathering at the Theatre Royal when Lord Plunket was farewelled.
