HE PLEADS NOT GUILTY.

AUCKLAND, May 23. Frederick Kearney^ the man captured by Mr Mains at his' residence at Reniuera on Saturday night, appeared in Court this morning to answer a charge of breaking and entering and theft. He is alleged to have stolen a gold watch worth £12, a gold chain worth £8, a gold bracelet worth £6, and a gold ring worth £2. Although not asked to" plead, he entered his plea of "not guilty," and was remanded for eight days.
