Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report: "At Wanganui (6th inst.) we yarded 3500 sheep and 120 cattle. The bulk of the yarding of sheep consisted of lines of full-mouth owes, for which bidding was rather quiet, a number of lines being passed under tho hammer. We, however, effected a good clearance before the close of the day, only about 600 going out unsold. Most of the cattle yarded ■> were weaners, which met with a ready sale. At Waverley (Bth inst.) we had a small yarding of sheep and 270 cattle. We experienced a fair demand for all classes, and succeeded in quitting the bulk of the yarding. Cows of all classes were keenly sought after at prices showing an advance on late rates. We quote: — At Wanganui — Sheep : 2-tooth to full mouth ewes 10s, 10s lOd 11s 3d, to 11s 9d, forward ewes 9s, 9s 6d, to 10s, full mouth ewes 6s 6d, 6s lid, 7s 3d to 8s 4d, cull ewes 4s 3d, 5s to 5s 3d, small 2-tooth ewes and wethers 9d 3d, ewe lambs 9s 4d, small iambs 5s 7d. Cattle : Dairy fed woaner heifers 31s to 34s 6d, weaner steers 355, mixed weaners 15s to 295, empty heifers £1 19s 6d, -£2 4s, to £3 Is, «mpty cows £2 10s, forward cows £3 10s, springing cows to £5 2s 6d. At Waverley — Sheep : 2 and 4-tooth wethers 13s lid, Lincoln ewe lambs 9s 6d, mixed Lincoln lambs 7s 9d, mixed lambs 6s 2d to 6s lid, cull lambs 4s to 5s 9d, cull ewes 3s 6d. Cattle: 15 to 18-month steers £3 Is to £3 2s, 2£year steers small £3 19s, empty cows (small) £3 ss, £3 12s 6d, £4, £4 3s, to £4 4s, cows in calf £3 12s, £3 17s 6d to £4 6s, heifers in calf £2 17s, £3 2s £3 15s 6d, £4 Bs, to £4 15s 6d, cow in milk £3 4s, weaner steers 325, weaner heifers (small) 22s 6d, bulls from £3 11s, £4 5s 6d to £4 Bs.
