OTAKEHO.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A dance was held here on Friday night by the natives, which was a great success. About 60 couples, Europeans and natives, were present. During the evening a naka- was given by the natives, which was appreciated, and a cak© walk was done by Hickie', who was loudly applauded. But the floor on each occasion was too fast for the performers, as some of them found it rather hard. The music was supplied by Mr D. Patterson, and was all that could be desired. 1 understand that a euchre party is to be held here soon by the natives, and some valuable mats are to be offered for prises, which will be quite a change for the district.
