WEDDING.

A correspondent wiites: — A very pretty wadding was celebrated at the Roman Catholic Church, Manaia, on Wednesday, August 5, when Katie, third daughter of Mr M. Doyle, Manaia, was married to Patrick, third spn^ of Mr J. Brophy, Okato. The Rev. Father (VDwyer officiated with nuptial Mass. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr F. Doyle, Okato, was attired in white silk, trimmed with French knots and real lace, the bodice being trimmed with .-mall true-lovers' knots. She also wore the usual wreath of orange blossoms and carried a shower bouquet of snowdrops and maidenhair fern, the gift of Mrs Hair, Manaia. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold brooch set with rubies. The bride was attended by her two sisters, the Misses Dinah and Frances, and Miss Jessie Alyward, dressed in silk, carrying shower bouquets and wearing gold brooches (the gift of the bridegroom). Mr J. Brophy acted as best man. As the bridal party left tlie church amid showers of rice, the Wedding March was played by Miss G. Hilles. After ! I>he ceremony a large number of guests were entertained at the residence of the bride's parents, where the usual toasts were honored. The chief toast was proposed by the Rev. Father O'Dwyer. Mr W. J. Barleyman proposed "The bridesmaids," which, was responded to by Mr J. Brophy. Mr J. J. Meldon proposed "The 'bride and bridegroom's parents, 5 ' which was responded to by Mr T. Doyle. Other .toasts were honored. In the evening the happy couple left' 1 o catch the train for South on their way to Hamilton (where the honeymoon ;s to be spent) carrying with them good wishes for their future happiness. The bride's travelling costume was a blue cloth coat and skirt and set of furs, white hat, with ostrich plumes. The presents were numerous and costly.
