THE CADETS.
(By Telegraph. — Special to Stab.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 23. ' The Bawora, Eltham and Waverley boys ' are all well — good weather, good tents, j and grod fiobd; 800 cadetsi headed ty the Hawera Bugle Band paraded the Exhibi1 toon last night. Rose this morning at six, | breakfast at 7, drill at 9. Captain Strack has be-m appointed bandmaster of three battalions of 40 buglers. Captains Strack and Banks telegraphed to Mr Major, MJT.R., yesterday stating it was proposed to break up the West Oast camp on Tuesday in the face of arrangements being made to return on Good Friday, and asked Mr Major to communicate with the Hon. the Defence Minister with a view to not striking tents until Good Friday. Mr Major despatched the following telegram to the Minister : — "I am advised that it is proposed to break up the Wiast Coast ead«t camp on the 26th. This gives battalion a very short stay at Exhibition after so long a journey and preparation and expense. I urge that you. will allow them to remain in camp until Good Friday, leaving for north that morning " _____ __
