TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC- OF HAWERA AND SUBBOUNDING DISTRICT. Ladies and Gentlemen, — SOME of my neighbors and fellow-businessmen have, in their great benevolence (golden bule bevebse side), considered it beat, as my health has not been good for some time, that I should close my Stationery Shop at 9 p.m. on Saturdays, and this against my wish or inclination and the public convenience. To compel me to do so they have thought it right to call in the expert knowledge of the Inspector of Shops and tfaefceries to decide that, as I sell a certain amount of electroplate and silverware in connection with my fancy goods business, that I must be classed as a jeweller ; and so have to close my Stationery and Fancy Goods Shop at 9 p.m. on Saturdays as the Jewellers do — two of whom signed the requisition to the Minister of Labor. There being three others besides myself who sell Electro-plate Ware who did not sign the requisition for the early closing, shows that their request was granted upon misrepresentation, &a they were in the minority. However, to save trouble and probable expense, I have decided to fall in with their request and be classed as a JEWELLER, with many thanks for the honor and for bringing the Business so prominently before the public. I shall from the undermentioned date give a REDUCTION of 25% <> n all GASH SALES in connection with the JEWELLERY BUSINESS. ' Goods not previously kept will be added to make stock as complete as possible. ~"\ The public are respectfully invited to compare our prices.
