LONDON, March 21.

In the House of Lords, Lord Denbigh raised a Home Rule debate, and elicited from the Earl of Crewe a statement that the .bill was a "further extension of selfgovernment.

Lord Loreburn declared he 1 would, never support Home Rule except in the shape of a subordinate Parliament. They were unable to touch Irish Government without a step towards Home Rule. He hoped a great change would come before long, effecting a complete Tieconciliatiion, as in Canada, and, ne trusted, Sou_h, Africa. He claimed' the Government was not soliteiry in proposing to deal with Irish, legislation otherwise than by Home Rule.

Lord* Lansdowne expressed the strongest misgiving regarding the policy foreshadowed.
