Gore and Ashburton having tied for third and fourth places, ran off, Gone winning in,4o 2-sseCj (a^record for the colony), Ashbwrton repeating its performance, 47 ,2:ssec. Ladder Race (one man.). First prize, £8; second, £6; tnixd^£4; fourth, £2. Napier (A. Petenson), 7 4-ssec 1 Greymouth, (H.' Blockage), 'Bsec 2 Dunedin City (Al Duncan), Bsec 3 Hokitika (R. Ross), 8 l-ssec 4 1 Thetre was a large nifmber of competitore in this event, one tie for second and third places, and five for fourth. The runs off resulted as above. '
