The Clutha Leader understands that Mr John Gibson, of Ashley Downs, has been formally adviaad that the Government decided to acquire his estate for dlooe settlement purposes. The price, it ia believed, if £4 10a per acre. The area comprises, approximately 3700 acnes, Mr Gibson retaining the homestead blLook. '
