THEFT AT ELTHAM.

The sum of £50 was stolen from the Coronation Hotel, Eltham, on Sunday night. T&e keys of the sale -weret taken from the pockets of the pirpprietor'a (Mr R. H. Campbell) clothes, by his bedside. As the safe was not emptied (there being a, large sum in gold left) it is thought the, thief was disturbed whilst at work. On Monday Constable Ryan, of Stratford, and Constable Redican, . ©f Eltham, , : made, investigation, ; a$ tlje- result of which , the > hotel porter was wrested. It is reported that on the porter's room being searched £40 of the missing money was recovered.
