CALLIOPE DOCK FATALITY
ENQUIRY RESUMED

AUCKLAND, January 7.
The enquiry touching the- accident* at Calliope Dock during the docking of the MamaTi, by which three men lost their lives, was resumed to-day, when the evidence of tKe captain and officers of the vessel combatted tine theory offered by Mr Hamer, engineer to the Auckland Harboi Board, that the bow Top© of the vessel was unduly strained at a critical time, and puued forward the hull, thus causing the accident. They said the rope was never dangerously taut.
