MONTGOMERY'S COMPANY

OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT.

*" To-night Montgomery's famous pictures and entertainers will appear at the Opera House after a lengthy absence. The management promises an exceptionally fine and varied collection of the world's latest and best motion pictures. Prominent and of chief interest to intending patrons will doubtless be those of two of the most stirring evente of recent years, the tragic disaster at San Francisco, and Vesuvius in eruption. Both will be graphically and realistically portrayed. In addition a host of miscellaneous pictures will also be exhibited, calculated to suit all tastes. A few may be specially mentioned. Sporting enthusiasts will be liberally catered for by a sporting drama, "The Derby Winner," also th© "Life of a Racehorse," and a very dear (representation of a crosscountry everifi fcettoneen the flags, in which at one fence a very bad fall occurs, needless to say quite an unrehearsed incident. Of an historical mature is "Marie Antoinette," or "From thsrone to scaffold," showing the vicissitudes through which tho ill -fated Queen of King Louis passed. Among those ©specially full of thrilling and amusing incidents are the detective drama, "Raffles," or the amateur cracksman, and his pal bunny, and "A Trip to the Moon," tsh© latter though not perhaps being quite as worthy of Julfe Verne as m "A Trip to the Sun," but sufficiently so ■ to cause one outburst of merriment from W start to finish. , A popular feature of Mr Montgomiery'6 entertainments hay© always been songs, illustrated by beautiful picture tableaux. An entirely new series will be introduced her© during this visit. They include pretty little sentimental ballads in "I'm trying so hard to forget you," "In the Vale 1 of Shenamdoah," and "Would you care." Others of a different char"acter are "Th© man in the overalls," "The man with th© ladder and the hose," and "A soldier of Japan," all of which have become extremely popular wherever sung. Vocal and comic items, will be freely interspersed between th© pictorial items and among the former contributions ■will be Mt W. H. Montgomery, a brother of the proprietor who has just arrived in the colon/ from London. He was formerly principal baritone to the famous D'Oyljr-Oaete Opera Co. , and had lengthy engagements at the leading London theatres. He should prove a great acquisition to the company. Seats may be reserved at Cole and Doanettj's. *
