FRIENDLY SOCIETY CASE.

NAPIER, April 24. A case of considerable interest to friendly societies was decided by Mr Brabamt, 45.M., to-day. The dispensary of the ngociety sued a member of the Oddfellows' Ijodge for the. cost of certain proprietary . medicines supplied on the doctor's prescription. The defendant held that under Tfche lodjja rules the dispensary was com■peiled to provide all medicines free but -the dispensary rules showed an exception in. cases of all patent medicines. The Magistrate held the dispensary rule -was clear on the point and .gave judgment for the amount claimed. An bppeal ■will probably be made.
