HAWERA GOLF CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Hawera Golf dub was held on Tuesday afternoon in Mr Turton'e office; present— Messrs Chettle (chair), O'Callaghan, Gillies, Page; Meek, Turton, Strack, Basham, • Foysber, Dr Deck, Mesdames O'Callaghaitt, Meek, Misses N. Goutts, Caplen'and Sealtom The annual report showed tuat the Club was sound financially and that the season had been a very successful one. During the season the men played- two matches, both against Patea, wkming one by 25 holes and losing one by 6. The men's championship was won by Mr O'Cailagban. The ladies played four matches, two against Patea and' two againßt Waverley, winning three 'of them ? being beaten once by Waverley. The Club during the season held 13 competitions ior trophies presented by friends and members*. - The report was adopted. Officers were elected as follows : — President, Dr Westenra; vice-president, Mr F. W. Wilkie; captain, Mr Ohettle; secretary and treasurer, Mr Foyster; general committee, above officers and Mr O'Cal'laghan. New members were elected as follows : — Dr Deck, Messrs Page J. Gray, R. D. Welsh, McCarthy, Hair, Nalder, Mesdames Brett, Page, Hobbs, Major, Gillies, Lady Muriel Deck, Misses Caplen (2) and Hardy. Votes of thanks were accorded: the re-; tiring Secretary (Mr Chettle), the laddies for providing afternoon tea (special mention being made of Mesdames Alexander and Lovell), and to the Chairman of the (meeting. The season opens on Saturday next.
