MANY AMENDMENTS FORESHADOWED.
A STORM OF DISSATISFACTION. jl (Received April 11, 8.3 a.m.) LONDON, April 10. Many amendments are foreshadowed in the Beobnd reading stage of the Education Bill, which will be taken after Easter. Nonconformists fear that the four-fifths clause will be utilised largely to perpetuate denominational teaching, and the Opposition propose to lower the proportoom Mr Ramsay Macdonald has given no>' tice of an amendment providing teaching in secular subjects only within school hours from the public funds. Churchmen denounce the bill as an unjust curtailment of religious instruction, and as disregarding parental rights. A meeting if South London Catholics expressed profound astonishment and indignation at the Bill.
