NEW DEFINITION OF GAMBLING. ' [FBXBS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURC^, Dec. 17. In the test case Police v. Fuller, to decide whether playing euchre for drinks in public houses is gambling under the new Act, Mr Haselden, Stipendiary Magistrate, held that it was, and convicted defendant, imposing a nominal fine of ss. The case will probably go to the Appeal Court. , WANGANUI, December 17. The Licensing Committee this morning at its quarterly meeting granted extension of closing hours from 10 jto' 11 to all licensees desirous of obtaining same from 22nd December to 6th January. .
