EXCELSIOR v. MANAIA.
The game resulted in a win for the Hawera club by 22 runs. There were no large individual scores on cither side, the wicket being all in favor of the bowlers, of whom Butts was most conspicuous, his analysis in the second innings showing 7 wickets for 1 run! Excelsiors first innings totalled 25, Meek, with 8, being top scorer; while in the second innings they made but 33, of which Haggett made 11, Cole 5, Li.ddle 4, and 5 were to the credit of extras. Manaia's first attempt yielded 18 Bailey, with 5, being topscorer. Cole got eight of the wickets, and Haggett 2. The second innings also ended for 18, of which Jurd got 6 and Currin 8, and extras 2.
