There was a. hig attendance at the opening q{ the Stratford green on Wednesday, but the day was rather cold, although tho sky was clear. Many ladies were present. Hawera had a representation of five and Eltham of seven members. The President (Mr G. Curtis) and the vice-presi-dent (Mr R. Dingle) chose sides, antfc an interesting game resulted, io, frvo* of the Vice by 93 to, 86,. T>e greeu was not in such good' or,4e£ as ftawere/a, In Hawera. a delightful afternoon was availed of by the members of the Bowling C]ub, who were nqt able to get away for the holiday, to spend a couple of hours on the green, Several very interesting games were played,
