[miss AssooiATiqir.]
October S. The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cableSrara from the Agent-General, dated Lon« on. 30th:— The wool sales olosed with a good demand and a very active market. The market shows signs of strength in the absence of the necessary supplies. There is a great demand from America for the best quality of coarse medium crossbred*. The buying is entirely for consumption, and not in - any way speculative. The European manufacturing trade is bad, and that class of buyers has been very caatious. The estimated value of fine crossbreds, all grades, is from lljd to Is 14d, medium lOd to Hid, coarse 8M to lid, superior m«rino lfjd to Is 2a, medium 9id to Hid, inferior 7d to 9d.
