A FRENCH BARQUE ASHORE.

THE CREW RESCUED.

[PBEBB ABSOCUTIOM.I SYDNEY, September 30. The four-masted French barque Adolphc went ashore on the oyster bank while being towed in this morning. A heavy southerly is now (2.30 p.m.) blowing, and tremendous soas are breaking over the vessel. A life boat is out trying to rescue the crew. Received October 1, 0.7 a.m.) SYDNEY September 50. The crew were rescued uninjured, though they had a rough experience while being hauled aboard the lifeboat in a mountainous sea. At the time of the disaster two tugn were engaged in towing the barque in, when the lino to 0110 broke, and the weight of the vessel, with the heavy gale, was too much for the other. The Adolphc drifted to the oyster bank, the huge rollers planting her on the ribs of tho old wrecks of the steamers Wendouree and Lindus, where she filled and settled down, though the hull remained above water. The crew found a refuge on board till : they were rescued but lost everything.
