I r-n ■ - 1 [PRXM ASSOCIATION.] (Reoeived September 26, ,9.44 a.m.) MELBOURNE, September 26. Mel. B. Spurr, the famous society entertainer, is dead. The cause of death was diabetic coma. LThose who had the pleasure of hearing Mr Spurr on his recent visit to Hawera will regret the great stage artist's death. A capital article from Mr Spurr's pen, entitled ??The Day's Work of an Entertainer," appears in the current issue of Life. Curiously enough the concluding Kwagraph is headed "How I mainain my ealth, which reads:— "This is a mo3t important point. A good constitution is. of course, a sine qua non, and this, lam thankful to say, I possess. If I had not, I think travelling in South Africa would have finished me off. In a train for three and a half days, and then show for two hours at night. But I survived it. Then. "of course, I itake care of myself. I eat well and sleep well ; take plenty of exercise, and very little liquor. I try not to worry, even when a joke goes wrong, 1 and "I like to find some good in every- , thing and everybody. My motto is : God I gives us our relatives ; thank God we can j choose our friends !' "]
