Last Saturday there was only a small attendancs at the local courts, owing to the holidays and the fact that nobody j had arranged to prfcvida afternoon tea, However, Mrs Caplen thoughtfully provided the refreshments, and a most enjoyable afternoon was spent by those present. v * # # Noshing further has yat been heard of any more matches, but the next one will probably hi with Waverley. Against this redoubtable combination the local club cannot expect to have much of a chance, yet it would ha well if they put in a bit of practice with the object of averting defeat by as little as ppssible.
