SANFORD'S AMERICAN PLAYERS.
Tlheatre-goers will await, with^ internet, the advent of tho American theatrical company, known as the Walter Sauford Players, which will open at the Opera House on Thursday eveping 1 . This enterprise is piloted by Mr M. B. Curtis, the well-known American manager, who was proprietor and manager of Dante the Great. Mr Walter Sanford is an American manager of wide reputation, and ibhe- union of these two Americans promises well for the success of the attractiom. Mr Walter Sanford comes with the reputation of having been one of ttoe> most successful producers in the United States. He successfully mianaged four theatres at one time, two in New York City and two in Brooklyn, and made mlany notable productions at each. This present organisation was formed in June in New York City with the purpose of producing successful American melodramas and comedies. Several of the most successful have been secured and are producted with completeness of detail. We are promised a treat in Tjeeutilul stage pictures, as special elaborate scenery has been painted by John and Louie Young, the leading 1 scetoic artists of the United States. Messrs Sanford and Curtis are bringing their attraction from a' great dls- ! tance, feeling sure that New Ztealamders *| will respond warmly to their efforts ( fto give them the best. The company 1 is said to be an exceptional one.
