EGMONT RACING CLUB.

The next summer meeting' of'-tho Egmptit Racing 1 Club has V.been 'arranged to take. placp on February 1/H» and 18th next. ( Given good weather ' there seems tp be no reason why this meeting should not be eminently more successful than its predecessors. The handsome and. carumotlious new grandstand thatl has been' erected -will m<ako fpr t*o additional comfort of the patrons of the lawn, while those whp content themselves with the " flat " will be able to avail themselves of tho i>M grandstand which has been placed in a convenient • position. This additional convenience will doubtless be fully appreciated. A liberal programme has been drawn up, eight races for each day having been provided for. On the first day the JSgmont Cup, ai handicap event of 300 sovg, and on the second day the Atkinson Memorial Stakes, of 200 soys, will be run. AH the other events are for good money. The committee fortunately enjoy a good reputation and have the confidence of the public, while Mr J. A. Turton, the popular and energetic secretary, is learning no ston© unturned to ma&e the meeting an entiro success.
