THREATENING SIR JOSEPH WARD.

(PBB f BBSS ASSOCIATION.)

Wellington, August 18.

F. T. Moore, who last week pleaded guilty to sending threatening letters to Sir Joseph Ward, was brought before the Supreme Court to-day. Evidence was called as to the prisoner's good character, and to show that his fetter had only been written with a view to directing immediate attention to the report on meat export which he had submitted to the Government.

Sir Joseph Ward gave evidence that there had been no desire to keep Moore's report back. As a matter of faot, it was a very intelligent report, and had been sent on to the Government Printer.

His Honor said it would be necessary for him to get further information about Moore. He wanted to have him medically examined, and would also like to have some information about the faith-healing propaganda prisoner had recently been carrying on. The oase was adjourned for a week, Moore, in the meantime, to be examined by doctors, and the probation officer to prepare a report.
