NORMANBY.

At the Town Hall, on Friday evening, the Normanby Euohre, Cribbage, and Draughts Club held their olosing meeting for the season in trying conclusions with I the Matapu Club. There was a large attendance, eighty-four players taking part. Play was somewhat late in starting, owing to some of the members of the visiting ' Club not putting in an appearance, and three of the Normanby Club had to eventually take their places. Mr Kirk Hall provided the supper, whioh was highly spoken of. After paying all expenses in connection with the Club for the past season, there was seven shillings of a balance, whioh was handed over to the funds of the Normanby Cricket Club. Mr G. V. Bate, at the conolusion of the play, thanked the visiting Club for the many pleasMt evenings' amusement during the past season that they had enjoyed together, and trusted next season they all would meet on many occasions such as the past. He also thanked Mr H. McKoy on behalf of the members as being the inaugurator of the Normanby Club. The proceedings terminated about midnight. Following are the scores :— Euchr,e : Normanby, Ist round, 33 ; 2nd, 39 ; 3rd, 33 ; total, 105 ; Matapu, 33, 30, 37, total 100. Cribbage : Normanby, 27, 31, 22, total 80; MatapU, 15, 11, 20, total 46. Draughts: Normanbj,2B; Matapu, 36. Normanby Club won by 31 points. It is suggested by some members of the Normanby Club to try and arrange with the Club about to be \ formed in Hawera, and other Clubs, to compete for a trophy, if such can be arranged for satisfactorily. The annual social in connection with St. Paul's (Anglican) Church will take place at the Normanby Town Hall on Wednesday evening. Heretofore, these gatherings have been looked forward to with pleasure by the general publio, as well as by those connected with the ohurob, and, given a fine night, the social on Wednesday next promises to be in no way behind its predecessors. The Manaia Band (Mr Stevencnn's) will provide first-class music, ana lue supper will be of the usual Normanby reputation on suoh occasions. Those who attend Will find a really firstclass evening's amusement provided for them.
