TARANAKI ANNUAL REGATTA. The weather was unpromising for the annual regatta, held at Waitara on Thursday, but the attendance was up to the average. The sport was interesting. Results :— Boys' Whaleboat Race— Tikorangi 1, Waitara 2, Clifton 3. A good raoe. Maiden Whaleboat Race — Waitara] 1, a> Clifton 2, Tikorangi 3. Won easily. 0 . Champion Whaleboat Raoe — Tiko20 rangi 1, Waitara 2. Ulifton went on the r . wrong side of a buoy, and pulled up. r t Won easily. in Fancy Dress Whaleboat Race — Tikoy rangi 1, Waitara 2. Greasy Broom — 0. Dugdale 1. Junior Whaleboat Race— Clifton 1, Tikorangi 1, Waitara 3. A good raoe. Girla 1 Whaleboat Race— Clifton 1, Waitara 2. Won by a foot, d Cigar and Umbrella Raoe— Nioholls 1. c Flying Whaloboat Raoe— Clifton 1, 1. Waitara 2. Won by inches. d Ladies' Whaleboat Race— Waitara 1, c Tikorangi 2. it Whaleboat Raoe— Tikorangi 1, Wais tara 2, Clifton 3. Won easily. Swimming Race— J. H. Nicholls 1. o All-couaers* Whaleboat Raoe— Clifton 1, Waitara 2, Tikorangi S. Won ooin«i 3 fortably.
