EGMONT A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

A committee meeting of the Egmont A. and P. Association was held on Saturday, Mr Winks (president) in the chair. THANKS. Mr J. O. Batchclar, one of the judges at the recent show, wrote, stating that he desired nothing beyond hotel expenses, and thanked.the President and officers for their courtesy to him and attention to his comfort while in Hawera. The Secretary will send a letter of acknowledgment. TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS. The Railway Department wrote suggesting that for next show the train arrangements should be altered to provide two passenger trains each for north and south on show days, and that as there was a difficulty in regard to trucks for taking home stock it might be necessary to arrange for stock trains on day after show. In reply to Mr Tonks, Mr Budge said there was a difficulty in getting away stock trains on afternoon of show. He would see the local stationmaster and talk over matters. RESIGNATIONS. Mr J. D. Hughes, Waverley, for- c warded his resignation as a member, as he was leaving the district. I Messrs W. H. and A. McGarry, Eltham, also resigned. The resignations were accepted. FINANCE. The Secretary stated that the Finance Committee had arranged for an overdraft of £300 at the Bank of New Zealand. ACCOUNTS. Accounts were passed, subject to the approval' of the Treasurer (Mr H. W. Sutton). IMPROVEMENTS. In answer to Mr Greaves, Mr Sutton said the ground improvements recently made would amount in value to between £400 and £500. Mr Tonks thought it would be advisable to tar the yards. It would put five or six years on to them. Mr Greaves was of tbe same opinion. Mr Sutton said tbe floor of the grand stand should also be tarred. The Chairman suggested that the matter of tarring ond gates be left in tho hands of the Ground Committee. The suggestion was adopted. LEASE. Tho Secretary reported that Mr Newsham's lease (now held by Mr Moore) had expired in October. On Mr Washer's motion, seconded by Mr Sutton, the matter was left in the hands of the Ground Committee.
