A COMING MUSICAL TREAT.
Lovers of musio in this district will be delighted to hear thai Mdlle. Antonia Dolores-Trebelli, the great soprano, has included Hawera in her West Coast tour, and will sing in the Opera House on Friday, 28t,h Feb. Accompanying Mdlle 13 Mr Bobt. Clarence Newell, a pianiste of marked ability, who has created a very favourable impression. Their Australian tour — spread over a period of fourteen months — has been a marvellously successful one. Thus a Sydney exchange : " Adorable Dolores* (the lady who sings like a nightingale, and laughs like a tickled angel), with her marvellous voice is galvanising Sydney out of its tired feeling and into transports of enthusiasm. She seems to have flutes and birds in her vocal machinery, and her management of them is mysteriously perfect. Her repertoire is singularly rare, and she ranges over Italian, Bussian, French, and English composers- the orchids of the gardens of composers— alike with the same fluency and grace. Her beautiful frocks and jewels are the delight and envy of all Sydney womenfolk. The Centennial Hall 'is crowded to the doors nightly." The coming concert will be a rare opportunity of hearing a really great vocalist.
