Colonel Porter has wired the Premier: "Heilbron, 10th— In from pur. auit of Be Wet, which was most successful in its general results. The drive wbb splendidly organised by Eitobener. The column and our regiment was successful, and received the compliments of Lord Kitchener, especially in regard to the recapture of the guns by the Seventh Contingent. I reported you on the Brd inst that we were in oontact with the enemy several times in minor engagements. The column is operating under Brigadier Byng. Our contingent captured 16 rifles, 1000 rounds ammunition, 570 horses, 470 mixed cattle, 10,000 sheep, 11 waggons, 13 carts, also some prisoners. Our oasnalties were one killed and two wounded. The general health is good. Strength 480."
