PRESENTATION TO THE PREMIER.

The Wellington Committee in con- « nection with the presentation of a purse of sovereigns to the Premier, in recognition of his patriotic services, is desirous that banquets to Mr Seddon should be discouraged, and that the presentation should be made at Christchurch, where it was first mooted.

The Wanganui Chronicle says : Mr H. Mowtell, the custodian of the Corporation Baths, has been missing for some days, and it is feared that something serious has befallen him.
