PROPOSED PRESENTATION TO THE PREMIER.
(PBB PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
Chbistohorch, February 12. A meeting was held here this afternoon for the purpose of arranging some public recognition of the Premier's spirited action in despatching contingents to South Africa. There wbb a large attendance, inoluding Bishop Julius aud a number of prominent citizens, and the proceedings were most enthusiastic. The general feeling was that a presentation should be made to Mr Seddon from the whole of the colony before bis departure for the Coronation ceremonies, and a resolution to this effect was carried unanimously, an influential committee being appointed to oarry out the proposal. The oommittee is now communicating with other centres.
A great congress of the medioal practitioners of the whole world is to be held in Madrid early in 1903, when the progress of medical science will be discussed by representatives of practically all civilised nations.
