Auckland, February 10. A petition praying for Federation to New Zealand, signed by fifty Fijian chiefs and thousands of Fijians, will be submitted to the Premier by Sir H. S. Berkley, in Wellington, before he proceeds to England, for presentation to the King. Tbe petitioners allege chat officials are unduly oppressive and exact services for which they give no remuneration.
