(F£B PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Invbbcaroill, February 5. At the Police Court, a man charged with shooting clucks out of season, raised the defence that he was misled by the Magistrate's (Mr Cruicksbank) decision.

Counsel for the Acclimatisation Society said that they bad publicly announced they would prosecute in such cases, as they had been advised there were not sufficient grounds for the decision.

Under the circumstances, Mr McCarthy, S.M., imposed a nominal penalty of one shilling, with ooscs L 2 12s.
