ARMOURED TRAIN COLLISION

Received February 5, 1 8 a.m. London, February 4. The Earl of Munster, Royal Scots, was accidentally killed at Kroonstad. A collision between armoured trains occurred at Burghersdorp, five soldiers being killed and five injured.

THE NINTH CONTINGENT. Wellington; February 4. Applications received by the Wellington Recruiting Board for the Ninth Contingent are over 600 to fill 129 places.

Auckland, February 4. Captain O'Brien, of A Battery, commands the camp of the North Island Battalion, and also receives a commission in the Ninth Contingent.
