London, January 30. In the House of Commons, Mr Sinclair's (Romford division of Essex) amendment in favour of a general redistribution of seats was negatived by 302 to 23.

The Hon. A. J. Balfour, Leader of the House, hoped that Parliament would not expire before considering the question in a practical spirit. The Address-in-Reply was agreed to.

Messrs F.JR. Jaokson and Co's Wangauui ram fair will be held on 12th and 13th February, when all the well-known breeders will be represented.
